![]() If you already have a Docker run configuration for this image, the Create Container popup will also contain the name of that run configuration as an option. In the Create Container popup, click Create…. In the Services tool window, select an image and click or select Create Container from the context menu. You can run a container from any locally existing Docker image that you either pulled or built previously. Open the Installed tab, find the Docker plugin, and select the checkbox next to the plugin name. Press Ctrl+Alt+S to open the IDE settings and select Plugins. For IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition, you need to install the Docker plugin as described in Install plugins. The Docker plugin is available by default only in IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate. If the relevant features aren't available, make sure that you didn't disable the plugin. ![]() This functionality relies on the Docker plugin, which is bundled and enabled in IntelliJ IDEA by default. IntelliJ IDEA uses Docker run configurations to execute the commands that build Docker images and run containers. Docker containers are runtime instances of the corresponding images.
